Shelly Blake-Plock is a Chesapeake music-maker whose first work was released as a collection of songs recorded on the outgoing message of his answering machine back in 1995. He worked in relative obscurity until Fall Records picked him up releasing 'Discourse and Correspondence' in 2006. That record was comprised of two distinct halves -- one of quirky piano and guitar pop, the other a set of extreme noise abstraction. Fall followed that release with the re-release of Shelly's Y2K recording 'Drug Warriors' -- a free-flowing narrative based in America's desert. 'The Violencestring' is Shelly's latest release; it is a musical narrative and collaboration with Joel Grip, Eve Risser, Niklas Barno, John Dierker, Carly Ptak, Twig Harper, Jenny Graf Sheppard, Matthew H. Welch, Lawrence Lanahan, Ryan Dorsey, Aaron Henkin, Jessica Riefler, Lyle Kissack, Ben McConnell, and others.
